GAMING EVENTS & TOURNAMENTS

A huge part of HubCon is the opportunity to get involved in all types of gaming. From X-Wing to Magic: The Gathering; Warhammer / Strategic Tabletop to RPG's. No matter what your interest or your level of ability, you'll find a number of ways to get involved in HubCon Gaming. Take the opportunity to discover something new!

Participation into any of the gaming events requires a valid HubCon day pass.

NB: For RPG Saturday Night, as the table fills, we will add RPG events where space and GM's availability exist. All those expressing interest will be added to a wait-list. Registration on the night or early interest, please contact us.

X-Wing Second Edition is a tactical game of ship-to-ship combat, challenging players to take control of powerful starfighters and face off against each other in fast-paced space combat. Learn to Play Star Wars: X-Wing

Join us live on stage with Onyx Squadron as their experienced space combat instructors teach you the basics of flying X-Wings and Tie Fighters (recommended for 1st time players and Star Wars super fans).
Allow 10-15 mins, running all day on the Main Stage

Star Wars: X-Wing Furball Battle Royale

So you’ve graduated basic flight school and want to duke it out against other pilots? Sign up on the day for this 7 player 'Battle Royale' variation of X-Wing which puts you into the cockpit flying the most iconic pilots from the Star Wars galaxy
Recommended for players who’ve competed Learn to Play or are experienced table top gamers).
Allow 2-4 hours, running at set start times dependent on player demand on the Main Stage

Onyx Squadron World Cup 2.3

If you’ve played X-Wing before or are ready to fly your squad against a wide range of adversaries, Onyx Squadron are hosting the next round of their X-Wing World Cup. This will be an Extended Format, 6 Swiss Round event.

Full day event running from 10am till late with breaks after each round on the Main Stage

Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition

ALL DAY SUNDAY 14 JULY

The most popular trading card game in the world comes to HubCon thanks to Mega Games Penrith.

In Magic: The Gathering, each player constructs a deck from a pool of cards that becomes their spellbook. Cast powerful spells; use artifacts and summon mystical creatures to defeat your opponent - choose from hundreds (and sometimes thousands!) of cards to become the ultimate Planeswalker.

Mega Games will present a range of tournament events, registration on the day:

1st event – Standard Deck Event, Start 10am, Cost $10, Prizes include playmat for first place and boosters and promos for all players.

2nd event – Repack Sealed Event, Start Midday, Cost $10 ( includes 5 repacks ), Prizes include boosters and promos for all players.

3rd event – Modern Deck Event, Start 2pm, Cost $10, Prizes include Playmat for first place and boosters and promos for all players.

Paint & take Miniature painting workshop.

A drop-in workshop to learn basic skills and techniques in painting tabletop gaming miniatures.

Combining high-action dungeon crawling with cutting-edge rules, Dungeon World is a roleplaying game of fantasy adventure. You and your friends will explore a land of magic and danger in the roles of adventurers searching for fame, gold, and glory.

Dungeon World’s award-winning rules are easy to learn and always drive the action forward in unexpected ways. A missed roll is never a dead end—failure introduces new complexities and complications. Life as an adventurer is hard and dangerous but it’s never boring!
